I'm feeling brave...

So this is something only
canada_cowgirl has seen before ... I give you
So GOI as it is affectionately called is a story I've been working on since Sept 2001. Yes I suck at finishing things, and since I feel like making excuses I had writers block for about a year. So without farther adiu, a snipet of GOI! Please be gentle.
The six contestants piled out of the "Fear Van" and stared at the old inn with trepidation. Billie was the first to move; she picked up her bag and began to walk up the tree lined path, grass brushing against the hem of her jeans.
"Come on guys!" She shouted over her shoulder as she continued towards the haunted inn they were going to spend the next few nights in. "Are you just going to stand there all day?" She questioned as she paused on her trek.
Her five companions shook off their stupor and hurried to join the brash young woman in front of them.
The entered the gatehouse that would be their home base for the next four nights. There were two bedrooms each with three single beds, a large living room and fully stocked kitchen.
After dropping their bags in the bedrooms, the six contestants gathered around the computer that the producers of the show would be using to communicate with them. It beeped at them, startling one girl who gave a short squeak before blushing and mumbling an apology. The e-mail informed them that they would be given four dares. Each dare would be for two people with the final one for all six. Everyone had to complete a dare. If they completed all of the dares, they would be rewarded with $1000 each. The email then instructed them to get to know each other before the next e-mail came. It would contain instructions for the first dare.
"Well, I guess I'll start. My name is Shane Helms, I'm from Smithfield N.C., I'm 24 and I work in a comic book store." Shane brushed a lock of green hair out of his eyes. "And the Green Lantern is the greatest superhero ever!" He rolled up his black tee to show a green tattoo that was the same as the
symbol on his shirt.
He grinned at the girls, one of who muttered, "What kind of weakness is yellow? Oh no! Look out! It's Big Bird!" Her friend next to her giggled as Shane frowned.
He was about to say something when the guy next to him stood up.
"I'm Shannon Moore. I'm 23 and I am also from N.C. Shane and I went to high school together. I work at Randy River in our mall." As he spoke, one of his black streaks came out from behind his ear. He brushed it back and sat down.
The girl who had made the comment about the Green Lantern stood up next.
"I'm Elizabeth Brooks, but you can call me Liz. I'm from Seattle, Washington and I'm 23. I work in a bookstore and Superman is the greatest superhero ever!" She smirked at Shane as he rose in anger. Shannon pushed him back into his seat as everyone laughed.
Billie, who had been the first to get to the gatehouse, stood on her chair. "My name is Billie Clarkson and I'm from Denver, Colorado, but I used to live in Seattle. Liz, Penny and I went to school together." She indicated the two women nest to her. "I'm 22 and I work in a vintage clothing store." She hopped
to the floor and then slumped back in her chair.
Penny stood up and smiled shyly at the rest of the group.
"My name is Pennyroyle Hawthorn and I'm also from Seattle. I am 23 years old and I work in a pet store." She sat down and smoothed her crimson,
knee-length skirt.
"Well, I guess that leaves me. I'm Randy Orton, I'm from St. Louis, Missouri, I'm 23 and yes ladies, I am single." The rest of the group groaned and Liz threw her water bottle at him. He grinned. "What?"
"So now what do we do?" Shannon asked, looking at his five companions.
Randy got a wicked look on his face. "I have an idea...we could..."
Just then, the computer beeped.
"Saved by the beep." Liz laughed, and went to check the e-mail.
Comments are very welcome.
